On Saturday evening, August 18th, the first Battalion Live Burn Training took place involving companies 8, 10, 11, 12 and 13 at the Bedford County Training Center. Supporting the training were EMS units from Hardy, Moneta and County 10. Units arrived at 5:00 pm, vitals were taken, a safety debriefing was given by the 1403 Compliance Officer, the Lead Instructor and the Incident Commander. Members were broken down into groups and a ratio of 5 members to one instructor was established. Good Training and Learning.
The Smith Mountain Lake Marine Fire/Rescue is actively seeking new members. Members can be firefighters, EMT's or simply someone that wants to help the community. If you feel that you have that calling to help others, that is the person we would like to speak with. Please drop us a note on this page or submit an application at Bedford County Department of Fire and Rescue.
